One of the most important ways Diabetes Canada works on behalf of the diabetes community is by submitting policy recommendations to federal and provincial governments on issues important to people living with diabetes or prediabetes.
As federal, provincial and territorial governments consider their annual budgets, Diabetes Canada submits policy recommendations on issues that are important to people living with, or at risk of developing, diabetes. We also respond when governments call for input on key issues related to the prevention and management of diabetes.
Together, these recommendations and responses are called submissions to government.
