Early-bird registration is open until Thursday, April 18, 2019.

The online regular registration deadline is Monday, May 6, 2019. On-site registration on Friday, May 10, 2019 for members, non-members, and students is $175.00.

Refund requests after the online early-bird deadline (Thursday, April 18, 2019) will not be honoured.

Dr. Andrea Lavoie

Cardiologist

Dr. Lavoie will review the pathophysiology of CV macrovascular and microvascular disease, inflammation, oxidative stress, hypercoagulability and heart failure. She will also discuss why people with diabetes are at increased risk of CVD. Dr. Lavoie will review recommendations for screening and prevention of CVD (including lifestyle and medication recommendations) in people with diabetes. She will examine the effects of CVD on diabetes and potential recommended adjustments to diabetes management.


Joe Solowiejcyzyk

RN, MSW, CDE

Jow will explain diabetes distress and examine potential sources and triggers. He will discuss who is at most risk as well as how to screen for diabetes distress. Joe will examine ways to diffuse diabetes distress, provide coping strategies and supports.
